Color Field Studies

Inspired by Adobe Kuler program, I used the breakdown of only five colors to define a painting.

What colors make a breathtaking picture? Color has a language of its own. I speaks to each person individually. In these color field studies, I wanted to invite the viewer to experience the language of color. Each color has a resonance, a frequency. This resonance relates to the colors around it, which communicates a complex messages.

As I painted these panels, I started with an idea of the finished product. I had a target color combination for my goal. But the process tool over. Each layer spoke. My response determined the next step I would take; and so this conversation continued layer after layer, until the work was complete.
